Speech of Investor Representative at the Opening Ceremony of Vinh Tan International Port

The Binh Thuan Provincial People’s Committee and Pacific Corporation jointly held a ceremony on April 20 to put Vinh Tan International Port into official operation after four years of construction. Vinh Tan International Port is one of the first port in Vietnam invested by a private company. We would like to introduce the speech of Mr. Phan Van Quy, Chairman of Pacific Corporation as below.

Mr. Phan Van Quy, Chairman of Pacific Corporation as the investor representative made a speech at the Vinh Tan International Port’s Grand Opening Ceremony

Honorable:

– Mr. Tran Thanh Man, Secretary of the Central Party Committee – Chairman of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Central Committee.
– Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Binh Thuan’s Provincial Party Committee.
– Mr. Nguyen The Ky, Member of the Central Party Committee, General Director of Voice of Vietnam.
– Honorable Leaders of ministries, central authorities and state agencies; Leaders of Binh Thuan province and other provinces; and leaders of entities.
– Excellencies and distinguished guests!

First of all, on behalf of our Management Board and all employees of Pacific Corporation and Vinh Tan International Port Joint Stock Company, I would like to send our warmest greetings and sincere thanks to the leaders and distinguished guests who attend Grand Opening Ceremony of Vinh Tan International Port today.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

To implement the investment mobilizing policy of Binh Thuan province, we have studied, proposed and was assigned by Binh Thuan People’s Committee to be the investor of Vinh Tan general port project in Vinh Tan commune, Tuy Phong district.

In the process of implementing the project, stemming from practical requirements, we have proposed adjusting the plan and upgrading the scale of two 30,000-ton terminals to 50,000-ton terminals and one 70,000-ton terminal for the future development, simultaneously changing project name to Vinh Tan International Port.

After a rush of construction, Vinh Tan International Port has been completed on schedule and put into operation according to regulations. After more than 1 operation year of the 3,000-ton terminal , cargo output of the port is very diverse such as titanium ore, construction materials; various kinds of agricultural products, etc. Especially, a volume of coal slag and fly ash from thermal power plants of Vinh Tan Power Center passed through the port, have contributed to minimizing impacts to the regional environment.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

To get the results today, in addition to efforts of the Investor, contractors and the Bank financing capital, there is great interest and support from Leaders of Binh Thuan province, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Industry and Trade and people of Vinh Tan commune.

On this occasion, we would like to express our sincere thanks to the leaders of Province, State agencies, authorities, Tuy Phong district, Vinh Tan commune of Binh Thuan province and related ministries and agencies for their decisive participation to help us solve difficulties and obstacles. We hope that we will continue to receive your attention and support in the future.

Thank you, our contractors, especially Phu Xuan Contractor who has many initiatives to help  construction overcome geological difficulties and extreme weather. We would like to thank the leaders of Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, especially their Hanoi Branch, who have put their faith in our company and timely, professionally supported credit for the project, helping the project to be completed on schedule. We affirmed that we will keep strictly complying with all contents of the mutually signed Agreement.

On early days to look for investment opportunities, there was an echoing poem about Binh Thuan homeland beside me:

And we came back. Over the years, our Company and its domestic and foreign partners have surveyed and implemented a number of projects in Binh Thuan. In which, in the field of General Contractor, Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant with modern equipment and technology was completed and put into operation earlier than required schedule. In 2017, it was selected by the Ministry of Construction as one of five national typical projects; Vinh Tan 4 extension thermal power plant with modern equipment and technology is also in the process of completion. For the field of industrial investment, Thai Hoa Wind Power Plant project and Thai Phong Solar Power Plant project about 600MW are gradually completing procedures for investment preparation. And today, Vinh Tan International Port, a project demonstrating the aspiration of our Pacific Corporation’s personnel has been officially inaugurated.

Binh Thuan – a land of great investment potential; Binh Thuan – a good land; We earnestly encourage domestic and foreign investors to come to Binh Thuan together with our Vinh Tan Port. We are always ready to serve you and willing to accompany you to make this area a focal point of Binh Thuan province and the neighbouring area in mobilizing investment promotion, regional connectivity, and gateway for domestic and international trade.
 

We affirm that we will continue to invest in long-term business in Binh Thuan province, from now to 2021, if there is no change, we will invest about VND 20 trillion in projects of green energy industry, resort tourism in two districts: Bac Binh and Tuy Phong.

On anniversary of Binh Thuan Province’s Liberation Day and complete liberation of the South for Vietnam national reunification, we wish the central leaders, provincial leaders, local authorities and people of Binh Thuan province and all distinguished guests the best health, happiness and successes.
